The Story of the World’s First Werewolf

Lycan: Solomon's Odyssey is an ongoing series for mature readers due to some scenes of excessive violence, set in an alternate telling of our own universe, with an emphasis on horror, adventure, mythology, and a dash of history.

Lycan: Solomon’s Odyssey

  • Chapter 1

Everyone knows the origins of vampires, but have you ever asked yourself, where did the first werewolf come from? Was it Lon Chaney Jr? Saint Christopher? Maybe even Lycaon? No, long before any of them ever existed, Solomon was born.

In 8,000 BC, times were incredibly tough, but Solomon never lost his sense of levity. Born into the family responsible for creating one of the first villages in history, right next to a lush oasis. With his big brother Kuwari, as well as his best friends Hikma and Sharaf by his side, responsibility seemed to just roll off of Solomon.

However, while Solomon may run from his duties, eventually they catch him and even he will have to grow up.

Solomon will soon find that when faced with desperate situations, there are far worse things waiting for him out there.

When desperate situations lead to desperate decisions, Solomon will be forced to live with the consequences of those actions.

  • Chapter 2

The desert is home to all manner of danger, from scorpions to venomous snakes to the heat of the sands themselves. However, unbeknownst to most, there are far more deadly things lurking in the sands.

Their existence is only spoken in whispers: creatures who can take the form of others and lure unsuspecting victims to their doom. Monsters that are cursed to live half a life, whose mere touch will melt the flesh off of bones.

This second chapter delves into ancient Arabic mythology and folklore with stories and monsters rich in equal parts imagination and horror. Exploring themes of PTSD and grief following the events of Chapter 1.

In addition, Solomon will discover that magic is not just the stuff of legends, or hearsay from travelers entering into his village. Magic is very much real, with powers ranging from fasinating to downright terrifying.

  • Chapter 3

Between the Epic of Gilgamesh - one of the oldest recorded epics in Human history - and the tentacled cosmic horror of H.P. Lovecraft, there’s a giant sandbox of characters, powers, and monsters for modern writers to play in.

This book is meant to blend those two worlds together. An ancient epic, with a little flourish of cosmic horror! Solomon may be entering into a whole new arena of powerful entities, but they would be wise not to take him lightly.

The unrelenting fury of the werewolf will burn a path through all foolish enough to draw its wrath!
